Do you offer fixed prices?

Fixed prices are available for selected services. More complex work is scoped and priced individually, because the circumstances and work required will vary. Pricing is agreed upfront rather than calculated on a time basis.

Do you offer free initial consultations?

Cream Legal does not offer free legal consultations. A brief initial enquiry can be made without charge, but legal advice is provided only after the scope and pricing have been agreed. Before booking a consultation, Cream Legal will review the information provided and confirm whether a consultation is appropriate, its price and what it will cover.

What services does Cream Legal provide?

Cream Legal advises on business sales and acquisitions, commercial contracts and business arrangements, property contracts and leasing, lending and security, estate planning, business succession and legal consulting. See the Services page for more detail.

What is AML/CTF and will it apply to me?

AML/CTF stands for anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing. From 1 July 2026, Australia’s AML/CTF regime was extended to certain services provided by lawyers, known as designated services.

To meet our obligations, Cream Legal may need to verify your identity and request information about you and your transaction. Whether these steps are necessary will depend on the services Cream Legal is engaged to provide and the particular circumstances of your matter. More information about what this may mean for you is available on our AML/CTF page.

Do you work with clients outside Melbourne?

Yes. Cream Legal works remotely with clients across Australia by telephone, video conference and email. In-person meetings may be arranged in south-east Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula where appropriate.

Do I need to know exactly what I need before making contact?

No. A brief description of your situation is enough to begin. Cream Legal can then identify the legal issues involved and discuss the appropriate next step.

What happens after I make an enquiry?

Cream Legal will review the information provided and contact you to discuss the work required, timing and pricing. No work begins until the scope and pricing have been agreed.

Do you provide urgent advice?

Urgent enquiries may be accommodated where capacity permits. Please identify any deadline or time-sensitive issue when making contact.

Have a question not answered here?
